When Bigs and Littles share their time at school, High Five Mentoring offers powerful impact and opportunities.

Academics serve as the vehicle to developing a consistent relationship based on friendship, which has been proven to positively influence the elementary school students’ self-esteem, academic performance and attitude toward school. In addition, the mentor benefits from an improved sense of self-worth and an improved attitude toward community service.

High Five is teacher approved! Some of the biggest supporters of our High Five Mentoring program are actually teachers.

They see students come back from their time with their Big filled with confidence, smiling big, ready to learn and eager to succeed.

Although it takes place at schools, the impact of our High Five Mentoring program isn’t limited to the classroom. Of course, some Littles do talk with their Bigs about class, or do homework, or read together, but it’s perfectly fine to play board games, participate in group activities, and have fun. At the end of the day, it’s really all about starting a friendship, providing guidance and inspiring our Littles to reach their potential.

High Five Mentoring is Currently Offered through Long-Standing Partnerships with CLK Public Schools and L'Anse Area Schools, and a New Partnership in 2024 with the Hurley School District.

Our agency is available to partner with other school districts throughout the western Upper Peninsula. Talk to your School about the possibilities of a partnership in your District.
