How Mom Prom Keweenaw Works
Funds are raised through:
- The annual Mom Prom Keweenaw event
- Community and corporate sponsorships
- Silent Auction donations
By securing sponsors and donated auction items, Mom Prom Keweenaw is able to minimize event expenses and direct as much funding as possible to adoptive families.
Accessing Adoption Assistance Funds
Families in the Keweenaw area who are currently pursuing adoption may apply for financial assistance at any time of year.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Being in the adoption process
- Completion of a home visit
Applications are reviewed by a volunteer selection committee, which determines funding awards based on available funds and demonstrated need. Funds are intended to help offset adoption-related expenses, including travel and other associated costs.
Sponsorship & Community Support
Mom Prom Keweenaw relies on the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and individuals.
We welcome:
- Event sponsorships
- Silent Auction donations
- In-kind contributions
Sponsorships help offset event operating costs, allowing a greater portion of funds raised to directly benefit families. Sponsors are recognized at the event and on social media, and attendees are encouraged to “support our supporters.”
